In a wooded forest our two characters meet
A girl pure and simple, young and sweet
A boy; a pain, Far from home
With a single possession, a little black tome
The girl curious as could be
Tries to snatch his tome as she wants to see
Words he's written on the yellowed old page
Images he creates in her mind, His very own mental stage
He bites his lips and rubs his hands
As animals all watch from their hidden nature stands
The girl looks up with a little smile
Hands his tome back and starts to walk away
With a point of her toe she turns around, whispers one word
"Stay"
The boy, worried as could be
Does what he is told by this mysterious she
He surveys the area and finds a seat
Awestruck at what happened he stares at his feet
Wondering what kind of things crossed through her mind
Wondering if she was feeling fine
Were his words too much for her to bear?
If she left him here did she even care?
Questions swirled around in the young boy's head
And slowly his heart started to fill with dread
Why did she leave him? Why did she tell him to stay?
Would she back before the end of the day?
The sun started setting, the boy’s body started to quake
Where would he go to sleep? It was becoming extremely difficult to stay awake
He called up some forest animals asked if they had seen the girl come round
The animals all shook their head, the young boy frowned
His heart was filled with worry
Where would he go?
When sudden through the forest a voice cried out
"Go!"
Go where the boy thought, frantically looking about
He looked for a path, Where was the way out
Most of the animals scattered, some pushed him along
The boy just wanted to know what was wrong
Crunching and crashing something came plowing through the trees
The boy, while running, tripped over his own feet
Suddenly a hand grabbed his and ripped him from the ground
It was the girl he'd met earlier; she in fact was safe and sound
Though not as safe as he had guessed
Her auburn hair was wild and now wore a torn up dress
They ran through the forest every which way
Frantically looking for some where to stay
The girl ran round the corner and found a giant oak
The two ducked inside its trunk, no one spoke
Suddenly a crunching and crashing came past the tree
The clobbering of horses and the pounding of feet
The girl looked at the young boy and took a deep breath
The boy followed her lead, scared to death
Outside they heard voices
Talking about the girl, leaving escape with very few choices
"She’s a fugitive, now on the run”
"She's being charged with stealing, taking a book from my only son"
"Keep looking for her. She's wanted dead or alive"
Was the book that she had stolen worth all of their time?
The young boy looked at the girl, her head hung in shame
He gave her a hug and they hid while voices seeked as if it were all a giant game
For hours and hours they called her name
Finally at night they left saying that she couldn't have gotten far
The voices all voted that after all their work it was time to head to the bar
For a few moments the boy and girl stayed
The boy looked at the girl with a smile on his face
And motioned for her to come out of the damp oaks base
They walked together hand in hand
Without any talking, enjoying this fate driven plan
Almost at the edge of the forest they noticed a light
They hurried to the source hoping they could find a place for the night
No one would take them in but a little old lady had a shed with some room
The boy and girl decided to take it, sleeping with the comfort of the moon
Laying on the dusty floor, back to back
Each of them drifted off to sleep, though proper bedding they lacked
The old woman came in early the next day
Telling them that they were darling little children however they would be unable to stay
She handed them little cloth bags with some food, waved and wished them well
They headed out of the town as they listened to the church bell
A path leading their way
Now they were on a journey to find their permanent stay
Walking slowly down a well-trodden path
They started to open up and talk about their past
The boy told a sad tale of running from home
The girl told her story of growing up in a dark room all alone
Spending time being forced to write poetry for the voices son
She admitted to make her spur of the moment decision and run
She told the boy something inside her, something very deep
Spoke to her softly as she read the words on the sheet
She knew he was one like her, all alone in the world
She wanted to be with him, the boys mind swirled
He’d never had anyone understand his words
It was amazing to feel that someone thought he had worth
He looked at the girl with a genuine smile
The girl looked back and the pair continued to walk for a few miles
Luckily for the pair there was an abandoned old shack
The two nodded and vowed to never look back
They treated each other well, almost as if they were husband and wife
And together the two created a great life
Writing poetry and living off the land
Through triumphs and sorrows a young boy and a sweet girl found out that true love stories are written by hand
We had to write a three page poem. This is the dribble my mind came up with.

I wonder if you would ever be tempted to write your own rendition of "Alice Human Sacrifice"?
If you did... ya know... well then...I'd be the first to read it!;)
